Team-building Activities for Schools and Colleges

Team building activities can be a great way for children to learn about themselves and others as they challenge themselves to perform in small teams. Fundamental life skills such as listening, planning, analytical thinking and communication skills as well as flexibility and adaptability are put into practice.

Making the link partner with Musikscool(TM) to deliver musical learning events for Schools and Colleges. This unique approach enables participants to develop key life skills.

  • A new way to create personal advantage for University and job applicants
  • A fantastic music-based learning experience which also raises money for Charity
  • Written personal feedback from business people
  • Communications style profile for use at interviews

Musikscool is designed to provide distinct personal advantage for University and job applicants. It provides students with a chance to learn about themselves and to receive direct personal feedback on how they measure up on some key criteria that are relevant to Universities and employers when they make their selection decisions. At interview they are able to discuss what they now know about themselves, and thus come across as more self aware and mature than other applicants.

By the end of the event, your group will have written, rehearsed, performed and recorded its own 5 track music CD. You will have created a marketing plan for selling the CD to raise £5,000 for a charity of your choice. You will have designed the CD cover and insert booklet, and obtained media coverage of your achievement. Everyone must perform on at least 2 of the tracks, all of which must be original material.

Working in teams, participants will be given access to musical instruments, a computer with sampling software, professional 32 track digital recording equipment, coaching and technical expertise, enabling them to create the music from scratch and record it at the end of the event.

They also have to create a brand for their band and create their own CD label and cover using cameras, scanners etc. They will need marketing skills, fund raising ability and negotiation skills to raise money through sponsorship etc.

They will have to identify what unique skills they can bring to the team, plan their limited resources and work together effectively in order to succeed. True success will come through effective collaboration, communication, decision making, planning and process skills. Everything is against the clock, and the energy required is considerable.
