Networking...does it work?
Networking- does it work?
Many of us have attended Networking events and come away feeling like they were a total waste of time, full of people trying to sell their services and products. On the other hand they can be really useful events that lead to long term client relationships and good business.
In our experience it pays to be selective and attend events that are in larger cities or towns that are likely to have a wider attendance from all areas of business. There is no doubt that people buy people, and Networking events do give you the opportunity to meet a lot of people in a short space of time. To be successful at Networking you need to be prepared, and to acquiant your self with the latest thinking in Networking tips.

Ask yourself these questions...
What are your objectives? ( if you are only out to sell, you will do better at 1-2-1 appointments with targetted businesses)
How will you describe your business in one minute?
What common ground do you have with a room full of strangers?
How will you dress?
How do you meet the people you need to and politely remove yourself from conversations that are going no where?
It pays dividends to prepare for Networking and this will give you the confidence and abilities to make significant connections with others. So if you are a business owner, sales person or someone who is tasked with attending Networking events take advantage of our free Networking training for the coming month only.
